7 Tags of Valentine’s Day

Following Tim Holtz’s 12 Tags of Christmas instructions and Linda’s inspiration on making 12 Tags of Valentine’s Day, I made my own version of Valentine’s Day tags but only made it to number 7.

Here they are:

Secret Admirer

I finally found my secret admirer! It was Sheryl Parsons from Mother’s Dream Artworks!

Those beautiful note cards I received are original artwork from Sheryl that she entitled “Roadside Roses”! How awesome!

Creative Every Day 2010

My creative challenge for January 2010, hosted by the talented Leah, was the word body.

I used an old book cover as my canvas. I inked the board with Distress Ink in Aged Mahogany and Tattered Rose and sponge painted with gold and silver metallic paints. I cut the women walking figure from a transparency to make a stencil and secured it to the book canvas. With metallic gold, I sponge painted inside the stencil. After the paint was thoroughly dry, I inked several stamps with Staz-On black ink and stamped randomly with the stencil still in place. I then removed the stencil and stamped the butterfly in her hand with Staz-On red ink. I tied the black ribbon around the canvas securing with a few dabs of glue and glued a picture hanger to the back.

The project was inspired by the book, Creative Paper Dollmaking by Rhonda Rainey.
